Q: What is whole food juice?
A: Whole food juice is the combination of the juice and fiber from either fruits or vegetables prepared in the Vita-Mix machine. The speed and tremendous force of the Vita-Mix Super 5000 stainless steel blade tips travel at 240 m.p.h. at high speed, and the customized hammermill and cutting blades literally pulverize food down to the cellular level.  All the vitamins, enzymes, and nutrition comes to you intact with full flavor in Vita-Mix whole food juice.

Q: Why is a Vita-Mix juice better than extracted juice?
A: Vita-Mix juice includes both the juice and pulp from your produce. The pulp contains valuable nutrition that is missing in extracted juice. Vita-Mix juice helps make it easy to get the FDA recommended 5 to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables we need daily for a healthy diet.

Q: Can extracted juice be made in the Vita-Mix machine?
A: Yes, extracted juice can be made in the Vita-Mix machine by straining the whole food juice through cheesecloth. An added bonus is that clean-up is so much easier than a juice extractor!

Q: How is whole wheat ground in the Vita-Mix?
A: The Vita-Mix Whole Grains Cookbook recommends grinding 1-3/4 cups of whole kernel wheat berries at a time, which is the amount it takes to make a loaf of bread. For further instructions, refer to the Whole Grains Cookbook, which is included with your Vita-Mix Super 5000 and the 64 oz. Dry Grains Container, which can be purchased separately.

Q: Does the Vita-Mix Super 5000 bake the bread?
A: No. Our machine prepares the bread dough for rising and baking in less than 5 minutes. This time includes the time needed to grind your choice of whole grains into flour. The Vita-Mix machine will mix and knead the dough, which can be put in a bread pan to rise and bake in your oven.

Q: Can the Vita-Mix grind pastry-fine flour?
A: The Vita-Mix Super 5000's variable speed control makes it possible to grind grains into many textures including the fine texture needed for pastry flour.

Q: Do Vita-Mix juice recipes require adding liquid when making juice?
A: Yes, when making juice in the Vita-Mix machine water or ice is added.

Q: Can I just throw in any whole fruits and vegetables?
A: Indiscriminate combinations of fruits and vegetables can produce results that do not taste good. The Vita-Mix machine comes with Recipes for Better Living Cookbook which includes over 300 kitchen-tested recipes.

Q: Do some of the recipes in your cookbook address special dietary needs?
A: Included in the cookbook is a wide variety of recipes that address a broad range of eating habits. Q: How can you make chunky soup in the Vita-Mix?
A: Start with last night's leftovers! For example, take a few strips of cooked chicken or a small baked potato and add them to your smooth Vita-Mix soup using the variable speed setting #1. Chop and mix for just a few seconds for a hearty chunky soup.

Q: What is the price of the Vita-Mix machines?
A: The Vita-Mix 5000 is $399US/$599CN plus taxes, shipping and handling charges. The Vita-Mix Super 5000 is $479US/$699CN plus taxes, shipping and handling charges.

Q: Why does Vita-Mix charge sales tax?
A: Vita-Mix charges state & local tax because of our direct selling activities. We are required by law to collect sales tax according to the applicable rate in the area where delivery is made. The rates are the state rates plus local tax. If tax rates change, we are required to collect the tax in effect at the time of your order.

Q: Can I order online from Canada?
A: The Vita-Mix Online Store can only accept orders from the United States in US currency. Please call 1-800-848-2649 to place Canadian orders.

Q: What is a reconditioned Vita-Mix?
A: Reconditioned machines may have been used for live demonstrations or in a photo shoot. They may also be machines that have been returned within the 30-day trial period. In any case, a Reconditioned Vita-Mix has seen very limited use. Upon return to the factory, the motor base of each machine is cleaned, inspected and repackaged with a brand new polycarbonate container plus a bonus kit that includes Recipes for Better Living Cookbook, Getting Started Cookbook, Tamper, and Instructional Video. Reconditioned Vita-Mix Super 5000 machines also include an additional dry blade container and Whole Grains Cookbook. In addition, each reconditioned Vita-Mix carries the same 7-Year Performance Warranty and a 30-Day Trial Period Refund Guarantee offered with a brand new machine. (Please Note: Reconditioned units are in limited quantities.)

Q: What is the expected delivery time?
A: Orders are shipped the next business day by ground shipping, unless the customer specifies other shipping arrangements. Please allow 5-7 business days for delivery after order is shipped.

Q: How are Vita-Mix machines shipped? What is the charge?
A: We use various shippers: UPS, FedEx, FedEx Home Delivery, and US Post Office. Ground shipping and handling is $25US/$35CN for each unit ordered. Express overnight delivery is $45 Continental US. Alaska & Hawaii is $55. Express delivery is not availible in Canada.

Q: What is your return policy?
A: Vita-Mix offers a 30-Day Trial Period Refund Guarantee. All refunds will be made in the same manner in which purchased. A restocking fee will apply after the 30-day trial period. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Q: What is the cost of return shipping if I do choose to return my machine within the 30-Day Trial?
A: Vita-Mix recommends UPS ground, insured shipping. The cost will be from $10 to $15 US. Be sure to insure your package for $500.

Q: How do I return the Vita-Mix product?

Q: Do you accept trade-ins?
A: Yes, Vita-Mix offers a $75 credit towards the purchase of a Vita-Mix 5000 or Vita-Mix Super 5000, new or reconditioned.

Q: Does Vita-Mix offer a carrying case for my Vita-Mix?
A: Vita-Mix does not stock a carrying case. However, the Vita-Mix motor base, 2 containers and lid fit nicely in a 12" x 19.5" x 12" hard-bottomed duffle bag.

Q: How long has Vita-Mix been in business?
A: Vita-Mix has been in business for 80 years.

Q: Are you a member of the Better Business Bureau?

A: The Vita-Mix Super 5000 is our top-of-the-line model. The Vita-Mix 5000 is the same model machine, but without the "Dry Blade" container, which is designed for chopping dry ingredients, grinding grain and kneading dough. Both machines have a variable speed control and are available directly from Vita-Mix. The TurboBlend 4500 is a high-performance 2-speed blender which Vita-Mix makes available through its dealer network.
